Please keep all posts in sanctioned channels pertinent to Imperial activity. While Imperial citizens and assets are free to engage in any legal discourse between one another, all non-essential chatter on official channels will be punished severely.

Refrain from the wanton spread of non-sanctioned literature or imagery. Imperial High Command reserves the right to terminate any personnel who spread inappropriate, sexual, or heretical words or imagery on public channels.

Refrain from the repeated posting of the same, similar, or nonsensical words or images (or, in Low Gothic, spamming). Unlimited data uplink to the base’s infonet is a privilege, not a right.

“Warhammer 40k is set in the grim darkness of the future, and in this twisted era - there is only war. A war that the Imperium of Mankind has been waging since any of its members still living can recall. Whether by the hand of the insidious threats that go hand in hand with interstellar government, by the brutal and mysterious Xenos, or via the incomprehensible evil that is the ruinous powers of Chaos; the Imperium fights an uphill battle to secure her systems from those that would wreak havoc upon the Emperor’s blessed vision...

...but just because we’re engaged in never-ending war with the forces of Chaos, doesn’t mean our servers have to be a chaotic place. Keeping to the rules below will ensure that the community remains a streamlined place for everyone.

1)Behave In-Character: In character behavior is a must in any roleplaying community. Upon joining Adeptus Terra, one is required to adopt a persona reflective of their character. Devising a character sheet, physical description, and history are all mandatory - and a character voice is highly recommended. One must behave “in-character” whenever they are online or in an “in-character” or risk staff intervention.

2)No Metagaming: Google defines metagaming as “...a term used in role-playing games, which describes a player's use of real-life knowledge concerning the state of the game to determine their character's actions, when said character has no relevant knowledge or awareness under the circumstances.” For our purposes that means bringing information from the internet or OOC/classified sections of our forums, chat, or teamspeak/discord and treating it as knowledge your character would have on hand.

3)No Powergaming: Google defines powergaming as “...a style of interacting with games or game-like systems, particularly video games, boardgames, and role-playing games, with the aim of maximising progress towards a specific goal, to the exclusion of other considerations such as storytelling, atmosphere and camaraderie.” For our purposes, this means one should place positive interactions and roleplay above all else when it comes to Adeptus Terra 40k. The term has also, in some communities, been co-opted to cover a character who is or performs in such a way that is improbably or impossibly powerful (see: an Imperial Conscript who can bench press 250 kilos without mechanical augmentation, a Guardsman who can regularly shoot the hairs off an Ork from 100 yards, etc.) Dwell on the safe and reasonable side of character creation and action, and emphasize good roleplay above all else, and you should have few issues here.

4)Respect Others: While all memes, jokes, goofs, gaffs, and laughs are not only expressly permitted but encouraged; Adeptus Terra strives for an atmosphere free of mean-spirited out-of-character harassment and attack. Be excellent to each other.

5)Keep it Legal: A rule that should go without saying, but is unfortunately necessary in the virtual world. Modding or botting as well as doxxing, DDoSing, and other forms of internet crime are strictly forbidden - as is any digital crime that violates United States or international law.
